EXCURSION: DAY TWO

We woke up early to get back on the bus and drove to Munich and first saw the Nazi Rally Grounds.  We were apprehensive about this visit but excited at the same time to be able to experience such a historical site.  The museum and insert was done by Gunther Domenig.  The architect's grandfather was a Nazi and when he was a child he could remember his father always asking what his grandfather's role as a Nazi was but he never wanted to talk about it and threatened to never let them back into his home if it was brought up another time.  That is what the glass and steel insert is about, penetrating the walls of history to share with the world what happened.
